The Faroe Islands also use a version of the krone, but the islands have there own specially printed banknotes that trade at 1:1 par with the Danish krone. The Faroe Islands krone is under complete monetary control of the Danmarks Nationalbank. The krone itself is pegged in value to the euro. Each krone is subdivided into 100 øre.

The Danmarks Nationalbank issues the currency in denominated coins valued at 50 øre, 1kr, 2kr, 5kr, 10kr, and 20 kr with notes printed in 50kr, 100kr, 200kr, 500kr, and 1000 kr denominations.
