The United States dollar is commonly used alongside the HNL, especially in tourist areas. The HNL is pegged to the USD.

Moldova is located in Eastern Europe and lies close to the Black Sea. The official currency of Moldova is the Moldovan Leu. The Leu is subdivided into 100 bani and coins distributed include 1, 5, 10 and 25 bani, made from aluminum. 50 bani are produced from aluminum and bronze.
